About

MOYN Festival ran for ten years and ended in August 2026. Dozens of the closing weekend's sets were recorded and uploaded. This site listens to all of them and draws each one as a ribbon, so a whole festival's worth of music can be read at a glance — and so you can find the moment you remember and play it back.

Reading a ribbon

Mood
sadneutralhappy
Colour and height. Blue and dipping below the line is sad, grey is neutral, orange and rising above it is happy.
Tempo
100 bpm125150+
Spacing. The ticks crossing the spine sit closer together the faster the track runs.
Intensity
lowmidhigh
Thickness. Danceability and loudness combined: the more of both, the thicker the ribbon.
Same tracks
A curve between two ribbons means both DJs played the same track.

Hover a ribbon for the track under the cursor · click it to play from that moment · click anywhere else in a row to open the set

Where the data comes from

  • Recordings from the DJs' own uploads, collected in the MOYN Festival 2026 playlist on SoundCloud.
  • Mood, tempo, loudness and genre per segment from Essentia, an open-source audio analysis library from the Music Technology Group at UPF Barcelona.
  • Tracklists identified by trackid.net.
  • Stage names, set times and artist names curated by hand against the festival timetable.

Machine listening is approximate. Genre labels in particular are a guess, tracklists have gaps, and a set with no timetable entry shows no stage or time.
